Gilman Bishop founded Bishop Ventures in 2007 to address California’s housing crisis through innovative mixed-income housing developments.

Over his 20-year career in real estate development, he has completed over $250 million in residential and commercial development projects, including the creation of over 750 residential units.

Mr. Bishop’s skill set includes real estate finance, land planning, construction management, development, acquisitions, property management, and portfolio management. Gilman is Chair of the San Diego BIA Urban Housing Council and an active member of the San Diego Chamber of Commerce’s Infrastructure, Housing & Land Use Committee.

Bishop Ventures pursues ventures with a purpose to address unmet social needs.  Leveraging our joint venture partners’ operational strengths, we have the ability to plan, build, finance, work with governments, control risk, manage assets, and invest our capital.  Together with our joint venture partners, we form a critical mass, enabling us to effectively solve problems, innovate, and create new housing models that others can follow.
